Tento esej stručně popisuje historii rumunské kinematografie za poslední tři desetiletí v souvislosti s filmovým zobrazením Romů, jedné z největších etnických menšin v Rumunsku. Počínaje vzácností zobrazení romských postav v rumunské kinematografii až do pádu socialistického režimu, což je jev, který nepřímo odráží systematickou marginalizaci a diskriminaci této menšiny v Rumunsku, se analýza zaměřuje na filmy natočené po roce 1989, které reprodukují, reinterpretují nebo přehodnocují místní a stereotypní obrazy romských etnických skupin. Tyto filmové reprezentace jsou poté interpretovány a klasifikovány z diachronického pohledu.Reference
