Written by one of the key actors of the process of establishing a Romani network and infrastructure in the Czech media landscape, the text follows on a recent public debate featuring established Romani journalists on their possibilities of influencing the media discourse on the Roma and their media representations. While appreciating the achievements which include a diverse sort of Romani print and on line media, including a program in public broadcasting, and a number of Romani journalists working within mainstream media, the author highlights the existing challenges and among them especially the remaining cumulative distortion of the public image of the Roma.
